JAKARTA - PT AXA Mandiri Financial Services (AXA Mandiri) gave an open statement related to the polemic of unit link insurance products that were disputed by a number of customers. Through today's press release, the financial services company gave a written explanation.

One of the focuses is the direction of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) which asks national banks not to sell unit-linked insurance products.

"Until this clarification is published, AXA Mandiri has not received any official instructions from OJK as the regulator that prohibits partner companies and banks from selling unit-linked products, as reported by a number of media today," said AXA Mandiri Compliance Director Rudy Kamdani, Thursday, 3 February .

For this reason, Rudy asked the people who are the company's customers to continue to believe that the business processes held by AXA Mandiri are in good condition.

“The company urges customers, company partners, and the public to remain calm and not to be provoked by the issue of the ban. In addition, the company ensures that all customer services, including unit link products, will continue as normal, in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.

Rudy added that his party always goes hand in hand with all existing stakeholders.

“The company will continue to communicate with OJK, AAJI, and other stakeholders to find the best solution. This is to ensure that all decisions taken are supported with a solid basis to maintain the stability of the soul industry by staying within the corridors of the applicable law," he explained.

Just so you know, the commotion in the insurance industry in the country began to be felt since the beginning of this year when a number of people claiming to be from the Unit Link Insurance Victim Community 'rubbed' the OJK office to ask for mediation with the insurance company.

The victims asked the company to pay 100 percent of the insurance premium as promised at the beginning. However, the insurance company is said to only want to give 50 percent.

Feeling unsuccessful, the victims then complained to the Ombudsman regarding their fate. It didn't stop there, the Unit Link Insurance Victim Community also had time to convey the problem to the DPR.

From the information gathered by the editors, there are three companies suspected of being involved in this polemic, namely AXA Mandiri, AIA, and Prudential.

In terms of handling and resolving customer complaints, we as an insurance company are always committed to handling and resolving each complaint in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations, including opening discussion rooms to reach common ground.

"In the event that the settlement of internal complaints within the Company does not reach an agreement, then as advised by the OJK and in line with applicable legal rules, another step that can be taken by customers is to resolve the problem through the Alternative Financial Services Sector Dispute Resolution Institution (LAPS SJK)," said Rudy.
