The head of the La Ode Southeast Sulawesi Manpower and Transmigration Agency Muhammad Ali Haswandy said that the majority of the thousands of foreign workers who came to work in Southeast Sulawesi were from China.

"Most of them are PT Obsidian Stainless Steel or OSS and PT Virtue Dragon Nickel Industry or VDNI which operate in Konawe with several companies in Southeast Sulawesi," he said.

The Department of Manpower and Transmigration of Southeast Sulawesi ensures that these foreign workers work for a maximum of six months in accordance with their bagged immigration permits.
