2023 U-17 World Cup Results: 10 Venezuelan U-17 Players Hold Mexico U-17 Draw

Venezuela U-17 (white) managed to hold back the Mexico U-17 series with 10 players in Group F of the 2023 U-17 World Cup (doc. FIFA).

JAKARTA Mexico U-17 was forced to play a 2-2 draw by 10 Venezuelan U-17 players in the second match of Group F of the 2023 U-17 World Cup at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Wednesday, November 15 evening WIB.

Venezuela U-17 immediately made a surprise when the game was running for six minutes. Alejandro Cichero listed his name on the scoreboard after receiving Juan Charcolo's pass.

Ricardo Valino's team then had to play with ten players in normal time in the first half with five minutes remaining. The reason is that Giovanny Sequera received a direct red card.

Mexico U-17, who was ahead of the number of players, then gave a return in the 62nd minute through Stephano Carrillo's action. This goal started with Fidel Barajas' pass which was maximized properly.

Just five minutes later, Mexico U-17 immediately doubled their score to turn 2-1 up. This time it was Luis Ortiz's turn to register his name on the scoreboard after continuing the ball sent by Josemas.

Venezuela U-17 was not discouraged despite the lack of players. Their spirit paid off during normal time in the second half with six minutes remaining.

Nicola Profeta did not waste a chance when she was entrusted with executing a penalty. The 2-2 score lasted until the game was over.

These results make Venezuela U-17 dominate the top of Group F with four points. Germany is in second place with three points and Mexico has one point perched in third place. While New Zealand is at the bottom of the standings without points.
