The Countdown Of PON XXI 2024 Starts With A Happy Run At Senayan

JAKARTA - Thousands of people gathered in Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday (17/9) at 06.00 WIB. Exactly one year before the XXI 2024 Aceh National Sports Week (PON).

The starting flag was crushed by the General Chairperson of the Central KONI, Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) Marciano Norman. A total of 2,500 participants ran 5 km in the Fun Run for Countdown Event Road to PON XXI 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra.

A moment later, the Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo together with the Head of the Central KONI Marciano Norman, Aceh Governor Achmad Marzuki officials, and North Sumatra Acting Governor TB Hassanuddin calculated the postponement of the 2024 Aceh-North PON XXI.

"The presence of the Central KONI, the Acting Governor of Aceh and the Acting Governor of North Sumatra is proof of the commitment of the central and regional governments to make the XXI 2024 PON successful in Aceh and North Sumatra," said Dito Ariotedjo.

According to Dito, history noted that this is the first time PON has been held in two provinces, Aceh and North Sumatra. Their presence indicates that the quadrennial sporting event will be successful in Aceh and North Sumatra.

Meanwhile, Marciano Norman invited all elements of society to welcome PON XXI 2024 Aceh and North Sumatra.

"Public support for the implementation of PON is very large. I hope this is a good moment for the implementation later which will be followed by 38 provinces. This is a unifying sports week for the nation," said Marciano.

Apart from Fun Run, continued Marciano, the official website of PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra 2024 was also launched. This website is a window for information on the achievements of the athletes who are competing to be the best in Aceh-North Sumatra later.

"Of course this calculation spurs our adrenaline to work harder as the host of this historic PON," said North Sumatra Governor Hassanudin who was accompanied by Kadispora Baharuddin Siagian, Head of Information Ilyas Sitorus and Chairman of the North Sumatra Provincial KONI John Lubis.

Hassanudin further said that North Sumatra's technical and non-technical preparations as the host continued to be on progress.

"We continue to make various preparations in all sectors, because we seriously want to reap success as an organizer and achievement. So far infrastructure development is also going according to plan. We have asked PB PON North Sumatra and the regional committee to work hard," said Hassanudin.

The same thing was conveyed by the Acting Governor of Aceh, Achmad Marzuki. He said that the Fun Run for the Countdown of PON initiated by the Central KONI had spurred enthusiasm.

"This collapse reminds us that the XXI PON is getting closer. We are also motivated to work optimally. Aceh akam held 32 sports and everything is ready," said Achmad Marzuki.
