"I gave an idea. We chose 24 athletes for indoor volleyball, then 18 names, after that 14 personnel, and finally 12 volunteers. That's normal. Volleyball is not an individual game, but a team."

"There are 2 issues, namely technical and non-technical aspects. If the technical aspect, it is left behind by integrity problems. Well, this integrity is stated in discipline and loyalty. It is mandatory to be compact," added Imam.

Imam said that Rivan Nurmulki refused to defend the Indonesian Men's Volleyball National Team at the 2023 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship in Iran on 19-26 August 2023.

Not Matching The Coach

Imam said that Rivan Nurmulki complained about the deletion of players to the manager of the Indonesian Men's Volleyball National Team, Loudry Maspaitella.

Rivan is also said to have not accepted part of the decision from the coach of the Indonesian Men's Volleyball National Team, Jeff Jiang Jie, and felt unklanp.

"When I was in Taiwan, Rivan faced Loudry. Sir, I can't join the current coach. Because, there is no match. So it's not in line. What's the problem?" added Imam.

"The problem is coaching, substitution of main players, and substitutes. He also does not agree with the names dropped. He said that if his coach was still and his team, he would not be willing," he said.

"Loudry then reported me. After that, I gathered the coaching team. In fact, he was less in terms of cohesiveness. I asked Loudry to approach him so he could play. Because we still need him. He is a good player. However, he defended what was conveyed first," added Imam.

Imam ordered the Secretary General of PBVSI, Heyzer Harsono, to persuade Rivan Nurmulki, but to no avail. The volleyball player from Surabaya, BIN Samator, is always determined by his attitude.

"After that, he wrote a message to us when we were about to go to Iran. He said he could not join because he wanted to wait for his wife who gave birth. Second, he wanted to solve the problem of his ethical trial at the East Java Police," said Imam.

"After that, I called him to the office. I checked, the content of his wife was 8 months old. Until now, she has not given birth. After that, she said she wanted to finish the Police code of ethics trial. I have called the Kapolda, only one day. I can resign it," he said.

Advice From Imam Sudjarwo

"I told him 'you are a child of the state. You can't be like this. It means that he defends someone until it's excessive. That's not allowed because he needs the state. He doesn't accept that someone is used as a reserve, some are crossed out. That kind of loyalty is not like that," said Imam.

"I ordered him that he was registered as entry by name for the 2022 Asian Games. He was not allowed to play elsewhere. It turned out that a few days later, he played with the East Kalimantan Police at the 2023 National Police Chief. Even though I told him and he already knew there were rules when he entered the Indonesian Volleyball National Team, then played outside."

"How do we feel that we are struggling for the country, while he is good at playing outside. Well, these things make us make decisions. If they are still included, he doesn't want to join. If I insist, the team will not be solid. PBVSI is a big organization, there are rules. So treat everything the same for players and coaches."

"If there is a problem, of course we will give sanctions. In the near future, we will hold a Disciplinary Committee session on Rivan Nurmulki for a sense of justice, all of my friends, so as not to be followed and to maintain the muruah PBVSI," said Imam.

"We all love Rivan Nurmulki, also love all athletes. What we are doing is looking to improve Rivan. Because Rivan's future is still long and we want us to save. So, whatever the decision of the Disciplinary Committee must be accepted. We will not be able to turn off his career because he raised us," explained Imam.

"We love and need him in the future. So we will foster him to be good. The trial is after the 2022 Asian Games. He is an old athlete and already understands the existing rules. Every violator, we will give sanctions."

"This is a framework in fostering Rivan Nurmulki. We don't hate him. I called at that time because I wanted to save him because he was already registered with the East Kalimantan Police. I said don't play, it will be a problem. He's still competing," said Imam.

As a result of this commotion, Rivan Nurmulki will not strengthen the Indonesian Men's Volleyball National Team which will face the 2022 Asian Games on September 23 to October 8, 2023.
