Helping Morocco's Earthquake Victims, Cristiano Ronaldo Turns Four-Star Hotel Into A Refugee Shelter

JAKARTA - Al Nassr's player, Cristiano Ronaldo, is known as a high social spirit figure. Recently, the world football star transformed his luxury hotel into a shelter for victims of the Moroccan earthquake.

Reporting from The New Arab, Ronaldo swiftly turned Pestana CR into a refugee camp shortly after news emerged that the Marrakesh region in North Africa was rocked by an earthquake measuring 6.8 magnitudes on Friday, September 8.

A refugee even admitted that he was allowed to enter the hotel for free after the earthquake hit.

"We managed to get into the Cristiano Ronaldo hotel, which is on the outskirts to give us a room," Irene Seixas from Spain told Channel 24h.

"We are in the lobby with many people from various countries, waiting to see if we can get a room, but we all sleep all night on the road. But at seven in the morning, they (the Pestana CR7 hotel) told us that yes, we can enter," he said.

Hotel Pestana CR7 is a business that Ronaldo has built since 2015. This four-star hotel is known to be luxurious and classy with outdoor swimming pool facilities, fitness centers, restaurants, and terraces.

However, as a form of Ronaldo's concern for earthquake victims who need help, he is willing to ignore his hotel image. This is done so that people can get temporary protection.

According to the latest data, more than 2,000 people died as a result of the earthquake. Then, the injured victims also reached more than 2 thousand, with around 1,400 of them in critical condition.
