JAKARTA - The 2023 China Open Badminton Tournament will be completed on Sunday, September 10 at the Olympic Sport Center Gymnasium, Changzhou. In the men's singles number, Viktor Axelsen was able to extend his dominance as a champion this year. The China Open 2023 title was secured by Axelsen after overthrowing the host's representative, Lu Guang Zu through two games ending 21-16 and 21-19. This victory is Axelsen's fourth title this year in the BWF tournament. Before holding the title of China Open 2023 from Lu Guang Zu, Axelsen first secured the title at the Malaysia Open 2023, India Open 2023 and Indonesia Open 2023. Apart from Axelsen, a slick score was also achieved by South Korean mixed doubles, Seo Seung Jae/Chae Yu Jung. The title was secured by Seo/Chae from the French representative, Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue. Seo/Chae, who is the fifth seeded pair, managed to win from the eighth seeded opponent after passing the straight game with a final score of 21-19 and 21-12. The title won from the China Open 2023 is a new achievement for Seo/Chae. Because this is the first Super 1000 tournament title for them. Seo/Chae were previously only able to come out as runners up in the Super 1000 event. They achieved that when they performed at the Thailand Open in 2021.
