Liverpool Potentially Lost Mohamed Salah Next Season

JAKARTA Rumors of Mohamed Salah's departure from Liverpool continue. Unlike the end of the transfer market in Europe, Saudi Arabian clubs can still bring in new players until next week.

This is what makes Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reportedly resigned to losing Mohamed Salah to the Pro-Saudi League. But Klopp hopes that the transfer will materialize, at least next summer.

The Reds are known to have rejected a major offer of 150 million pounds sterling (Rp2.8 trillion) from Al-Ittihad hours before the UK transfer window closes. They insisted that the Egyptian player would not be sold this summer.

However, a report from Sportsmole said that later the attitude of Liverpool officials had changed. They are claimed not to hinder Al-Ittihad, which is expected to be ready to launch a new offer worth 200 million pounds sterling or IDR 3.8 trillion.

If the Reds finally give up and accept the offer, Mohamed Salah will overtake Neymar as the most expensive player in the world, and Al-Ittihad seems also ready to make him the highest paid footballer in the world.

The Mirror revealed that although Liverpool quickly rejected the first proposal from Al-Ittihad, it remains unclear whether the Merseyside giant will be able to refuse unprecedented payments for players who now have less than 24 months of contract remaining.

Such a deal might get a green light from the Fenway Sports Group, which realizes that the 200 million-pound draw for the 31-year-old will represent an extraordinary business from a financial point of view.

On the other hand, Jurgen Klopp hopes the club owner remains steadfast and rejects Al-Ittihad's world record approach, as the German thinks Liverpool will not be able to bring in a replacement until the window reopens in January.

Salah himself is believed not to be pushed to move, and his agent has often underestimated talks about his departure from Anfield. But the report added that he had informed his friends that the lucrative transfer of the Saudi Pro League would attract him.

Jurgen Klopp still hopes that Mohamed Salah will continue to defend Liverpool this season, but his departure to the Middle East in the summer of 2024 may be unavoidable.
