Deontay Wilder Opens His Voice For The First Time After Being Entangled In Cases Of Weapons And Illegal Drugs

JAKARTA - Heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder opened his voice for the first time after being arrested by the authorities for carrying weapons and illegal drugs in his luxury Rolls Royce car.

The former 37-year-old world champion was charged with secretly possessing weapons. He was arrested by the Los Angeles police in a routine operation on May 2.

After that incident, Wilder was silent for a long time. However, he finally returned to social media Twitter to convey some philosophical reflections to his followers without mentioning the case that ensnared him.

"You are a human being who is extraordinary and worthy of recognition. Never let anyone dim your light. We are all able to do a lot in this world," Wilder wrote as quoted by The Sun.

"Some people won't like what you do because they can't understand the problem, but it's okay because many people will love and appreciate what you give to this world. My light will always shine," he added.

Prior to the case that ensnared him, Wilder was beaten twice by an unbeaten British boxer, Tyson Fury in their iconic match trilogy in 2020 and 2021.

He then made a comeback step in October last year. The return to the ring was marked by defeating Finnish boxer Robert Helenius knockout (KO) in the first round.

Until now Wilder has not given any signs of getting into the ring in the near future. In the latest tweet above, he only gave a cryptic message regarding the future of his career.

"Some things will end with age, that's what growth is called," he wrote.

In April, heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua revealed that he would fight Wilder in December. However, the negotiation process related to this fight is not yet known.
