Indonesian Representatives In The Last 16 Of The Singapore Open 2023

JAKARTA The Singapore Open 2023 is now entering the round of 16. This round will be held on Thursday, June 8.

There are several Indonesian representatives who will work in this round. One of them is the men's doubles Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan. They managed to secure a ticket to the second round of the Singapore Open 2023 after tamed representatives of the Chinese Taipei Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang Po-Hsuan rubber game.

Playing at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Wednesday, June 7 night, The Daddies lost in the first game before locking up the win in the next two games. The match ended with a score of 19-21, 21-17, and 21-17.

Hendra/Ahsan are the tenth and final representatives of Indonesia who qualified for the second round. The escape of The Daddies made the men's doubles dominate with a total of five representatives in the round of 16.

The other men's doubles numbers that qualified for the second half today were Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, and Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo.

The four men's doubles pairs above followed Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin's move, who had already qualified for the round of 16 the day before, after stopping Supak Jomkoh/Kittinupong Kedren from Thailand.

From the women's singles, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung also went to the second round after defeating the United States representative Beiwen Zhang. The Malaysia Masters 2023 runner-up will then face former world number one Tai Tzu Ying.

Women's doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti also stepped into the second half. The sixth seeded pair qualified after defeating the host's representative Jin Yu Jia/Wong Jia Ying Crystal rubber game.

The escape of Apri/Fadia made Indonesia have two men's doubles representatives in the second round of the Super 750 BWF event. Previously, the pair of Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi had obtained one ticket last Tuesday.

Meanwhile, in the men's singles, Indonesia only has to face Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. The second seed advanced to the second round after overthrowing representatives of Hong Kong Ng Ka Long Angus in two straight games, 21-15 and 24-22.

Then in the mixed doubles number, the only remaining Indonesian representatives were the pair Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari. Rinov/Pitha qualified after stopping their compatriot Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti.

Apart from Praveen/Melati, the other mixed doubles that were also eliminated today were the Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati pair. Meanwhile, yesterday Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja was eliminated first.
