Maria Londa's Story Struggles To Win The 2023 SEA Games Gold Medal With Unprivileged Feet Conditions

JAKARTA - Maria Natalia Londa paid for her failure in Vietnam by winning the 2023 SEA Games gold medal, Cambodia. She became the best in the Cambodia 2023 SEA Games long jump at the Morodok Tecno National Stadium, Phnom Penh, Wednesday, May 10.

He did not win this gold medal easily. It takes an extraordinary struggle, one of which is to endure the pain of the injury suffered.

The problem came when Maria Londa came down in number one, namely the infective jump. He had a tibialis injury. However, the team of doctors quickly resolved the problem.

"When I jumped over the edge of the foundation, it stood out about 1 cm. Then I got tibialis on the legs. My feet were very tight and it wasn't enough just to massage. So it had to be stabbed or acupunctured," said Maria Londa, who won silver in the triple jump number.

Maria thanked all the teams, including the medical team who were quick to handle the problem, so that in the long jump event competition they could win a gold medal.

The 32-year-old athlete became the best after making the furthest jump of 6.28 meters on the fifth try.

He defeated two representatives of Vietnam Thi Thu Thoa Bui in second place with 6.13 meters and Thi Loan Bui who won bronze with 6.02 meters.

"Grateful, able to be healthy and present gold. The payment of the process yesterday at the Vietnam SEA Games got two bronze medals. Never give up," said Maria.

For Maria Londa, gold from the women's long jump added to the medal collection throughout her role in Southeast Asia's biggest sporting event to 16 copies with details of six gold, six silver, four bronze. In addition, Maria Londa emphasized that she was still on the pilgrimage.
