JAKARTA - The 2022/2023 Liga 1 competition season has finished. PSM Makassar declared itself a champion.

But that happy moment left a sense of disappointment. The team nicknamed Juku Eja will not get a prize money, but only a championship trophy.

PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the operator of the competition, raised its voice. Head of Media Relations of PT LIB, Hanif Marjuni said, since 2018 it was determined that the winning club would no longer receive prizes in the form of money.

"Since 2018 there has been no (money) prize for the champion," said Hanif Marjuni in an official statement quoted on Tuesday, April 17.

Regarding the prize, the championship club will receive a gift that has been converted into contribution money. This situation has become an agreement and has been approved by all League 1 clubs

Everything has been converted into the contribution money received by all clubs. Until now all clubs understand this," he continued.

Of the 18 clubs that have appeared in Liga 1 this season, all received a subsidy of IDR 5.5 billion. The IDR 5.5 billion was received by each club in one season whose payment process per month and the money came from revenue from one season of competition.
