Failed To Raup Points In The First Moto3 2023 Race, Mario Aji Is Still Appreciated

JAKARTA - Indonesian racer, Mario Suryo Aji, failed to get points in the inaugural Moto3 2023 race. Appearing at the Portimao Circuit, Portugal, Mario Aji finished outside the top 15 who were entitled to points.

However, Honda Team Asia manager, Hiroshi Aoyama, still appreciates the results achieved by the rider. Even though he did not reach the podium, Aoyama assessed that Mario Aji had tried his best.

Mario Aji's performance was actually not so disappointing. Starting from the 22nd position, he finished the race in 18th position.

Aoyama realizes that this race is not an easy draw. For that, he feels that the results achieved by his riders in this series have been maximized.

"The long and heavy Moto3 race here in Portimao. Our riders do their best in every round," Aoyama said in a written statement, Monday, March 27.

"The results are not what we expected, but they (the riders) have tried their best," continued the manager.

Aoyama said Mario Aji's appearance had shown a significant increase compared to the previous year. That made him optimistic looking at the next series.

"Mario has increased significantly and we are happy with this. I think from this point on, he is chasing behind with other rivals," said Aoyama.

For Mario Aji, this series is clearly unsatisfactory because it failed to win points. This racer from Magetan feels the need to show a better effort in the follow-up series.

"I didn't feel happy during the race. But when I saw my team's reaction when I arrived in the penalty box, it made me feel motivated," said Mario Aji.

"I think we also have to be happy. We have to keep working in this direction (win)," he said.
