The Presence Of Indra Wijaya Who Made Gregoria Mariska More Excited To Win

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) women's singles has a new coach. Indra Wijaya was presented to fill the women's singles coaching slot for the PBSI National Training Center.

Indra's presence has apparently motivated Gregoria to be able to provide positive performance including in the BWF Super 1000 All England 2023 tournament in Birmingham, England.

Gregoria admitted that she wanted to give her maximum performance in front of the new coach who accompanied her to four tournaments in Europe.

"Want to play well first, especially since this tour is long up to four (turns). It means not because Koh Indra just came to train, but wants to make them happy with the results of my training," said Gregoria.

The meeting of the women's singles sector of Pelatnas Cipayung and Indra Widjaja is fairly new. However, both coaches and athletes try to unite their views and cohesiveness quickly.

Indra's presence, which is close to a busy European tour schedule, allows him to mingle with his students in Cipayung.

Gregoria also admitted that she was still adapting, especially since each coach had different styles of students. However, during a short exercise in Jakarta, Gregoria said that Indra had not given many technical directions because the preparation time was too narrow.

"So far, maybe from me, Koh Indra, and other children, we must adapt because there are usually different style coaches," said the world's 14th ranked badminton player, as quoted from Antara.

On the other hand, Gregoria is also grateful because finally the women's singles Pelatnas PBSI has a coach besides Herli Djaenudin. So far Gregoria sees that the sector she has experienced is indeed short of coaching personnel.

"So when I heard that there was a new coach, it means that Kak Herli is no longer alone. It's a pity to see Kak Herli holding eight athletes. Yes, I'm happy that someone is now helping, especially Koh Indra as well as a good coach," concluded Gregoria.
