JAKARTA - The extraordinary achievement was again achieved by young Indonesian athlete, Aldila Sutjiadi. The Indonesian women's tennis player successfully penetrated the semifinals of the ATX Open 2023 which was held in Austin, United States, Saturday, March 4.

He broke through the last four in the women's doubles sector with New Zealand tennis pair Erin Routliffe.

In a difficult quarter-final match, the Aldila/Routliffe pair eliminated the women's doubles wildcard Chavatipon (US)/Zeynalova (Ukraine) with a final score of 6-4 2-6 10-7.

"Pararah. Especially the second set, we played very bad. Hopefully it can be better in the semifinals," said Aldila, as quoted from Antara.

In the last four of the WTA 250 level tournament, the second seeded pair will face the third seeded challenge of Anna Lena Friedsam (Germany)/Nadiia Kichenok (Ukraine).

Aldila/Routliffe have collected one ITF double title W100 Bonita Springs, Florida (US) from three finals they played two years ago in 2021.

Now Aldila is back in a duet with Routliffe after her permanent partner this year, Miyu Kato, decided to take a break.

Aldila/Kato will return to Indian Wells next week until Grand Slam Roland Garros in Paris, France.

"Miyu Kato wants to rest this week. In fact, we will not only be back together at Indian Wells and Miami as originally planned, but will continue until Grand Slam Roland Garros," said Aldila, who this week made the highest ranking in his career in 35th world doubles.

"We are chasing a chance to qualify for the year-end tournament, the WTA Finals which can only be followed by the eight best doubles," Aldila added.
