Liga 1 Results 1: Persija Jakarta Displaces Persib Bandung Position

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta and Bali United have compactly secured three points in the Indonesian League 1 continued match for the 2022/20223 competition season.

Persija managed to win dramatically 2-1 after falling behind against their opponents Barito Putera at Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, West Java, Wednesday, February 22, 2023.

Thomas Doll's side actually appeared to dominate the game in the early minutes before conceding in the 32nd minute.

The deadlock-breaking goal in this match was scored by Gustavo Tocantins after maximizing Mike Ott's pass. Ott got the ball due to a pass error made by Hanif Sjahbandi.

However, that advantage only lasted two minutes. Persija equalized in the 34th minute through Riko Simanjuntak's goal which took advantage of the chaos in front of goal.

The two teams were then involved in a fierce battle until before the long whistle. It was at the end of that match that the Kemayoran Tigers managed to increase their score to secure their 15th this season.

Hansamu Yama netted the winning goal in time. He broke into the opponent's goal with a header after receiving Birrul Walidain's pass.

This result makes Persija move up to second place in the standings. They are now collecting 50 points to shift Persib Bandung, which is one point behind, down to second place.

Victory with the same score was also secured by Bali United against the Dewa United of the Indomilk Arena Stadium, Tangerang.

Stefano Cugurra's troops took the lead through Privat Mbarga in the 20th minute and Muhammad Rahmad's goal in the 45th minute before being awarded a penalty goal for Risto Mitrevski in the 61st minute.

This is Bali United's 13th victory from 25 matches so far. The team nicknamed Serdadu Tridatu is currently collecting 43 points or six adrift of Persib in third place.
