After the M7.8 Earthquake, the Turkish League Club's Goalkeeper Disappeared Under the Ruins

JAKARTA - The goalkeeper for the Turkish League club, Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan, became a victim after an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 rocked Turkey and Syria, Monday, 6 February. The retainer of the Yeni Matyaspor club was lost under the rubble.

Quoted from the Turkish media, Sozcu, Turkaslan was trapped in his residence when the earthquake centred in Kahramanmaras occurred.

According to the media, his wife, Gaziantep, was rescued from the same location. However, the 28-year-old goalkeeper is still on the hunt.

Turkaslan only explored a career with Yeni Matyaspor at the start of last season. He got a one-year contract.

Turkaslan still hasn't even had a chance to play from coach Yilmaz Vural.

After the earthquake that devastated Turkey, so far there has been no announcement regarding the termination of the Turkish League competition.

When the earthquake occurred in Turkey, other areas such as Syria also felt the vibrations. This strong earthquake has toppled buildings in southern Turkey and northern Syria.

At a news conference, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay confirmed at least 284 people had died in the country.

The death toll has so far been found in seven provinces, state media reported. An additional 2,323 people were injured, according to Oktay.

At least 237 others died in Syria, and 639 others were injured, mostly in government-controlled areas of Latakia, Aleppo, Hama and Tartous, according to the country's Ministry of Health, reported by NBC News, Monday 6 February.
