JAKARTA - Deontay Wilder's coach, Malik Scott, wants his team to fight Anthony Joshua (AJ) immediately. The duel was considered to be the biggest in the history of the heavyweight division.

The planned duel between Joshua and Wilder has been in the works for a long time since both of them held all the heavyweight belts together. However, until now the battle has not yet materialized.

During that period, Joshua lost again to Ukrainian champion Oleksandr Usyk last August. Whereas Wilder lost the belt in a trilogy with Tyson Fury before his brutal KO of Robert Helenius in October.

However, the possibility of the two of them meeting in the ring is still uncertain. The reason is, Andry Ruiz is currently the favorite as a candidate for the next Wilder opponent.

"You have a Deontay mandate against Andy Ruiz for the WBC, but somebody wants Anthony Joshua and Deontay to fight, and the actual fight is bigger than the WBC mandate," Scott said.

AJ is currently preparing for a comeback after suffering his third career loss last year against Uysk. However, who the heavyweight fighter will be his opponent is still under wraps.

Wilder, who is a former WBC champion, was initially among the favorites for a comeback with Joshua in April. However, AJ recently turned his attention to another opponent, which irritated Scott.

"I want Deontay to fight AJ. I think it's the biggest fight in the history of the heavyweight division. I want to see them in the ring against each other because I don't believe it's going to last more than three rounds," said Scott.

"We're getting ready to make the Deontay fight against AJ. Then you hear AJ and his team want to do something else. Looks like he's avoiding all my weight classes. You should fight one of my heavyweights man, we're waiting for you here," he added.

United States champion Gerald Washington is reportedly so ready to welcome Joshua for the comeback fight later. In addition, Australian heavyweight Demsey McKean is also willing to meet AJ in the ring.

Joshua will likely consider those names carefully when seeking his revival. If he lost again, his career at heavyweight would most likely be over.
