Former Arsenal And Liverpool Players Stated Bangkrut, Now Has A Debt Of More Than IDR 18.7 Billion

JAKARTA - Former England player, Jermaine Pennant, has been declared bankrupt. The 39-year-old left a debt of more than 1 million pounds or IDR 18.7 billion.

The amount of debt that ensnared Jermaine was sourced to a number of creditors, including HMRC, banks, boards, and utility companies.

Pennant, who once defended Arsenal and Liverpool, was declared bankrupt in the past year. The bankruptcy was also decided in the Birmingham regional court.

Quoted from The Sun, a source closest to Jermaine Pennant said, "He owes a lot of money everywhere."

"The debt to be in seven digits including to tax and bank officials is huge. He has failed to pay the mortgage and is likely to lose property taken over," the source was quoted as saying by The Sun, Monday, January 2.

Pennant was brought to court by creditors after failing to pay off a number of bills that had not been paid. The star's financial problems began to pile up in 2020.

It started when his media company, Jermaine Pennant Ltd, was dissolved and removed from the company list.

Jermaine initially set up a company to play the money he got from Celebrity Big Brother and various appearances on television. But the unstable management actually made him into debt until he ended up going bankrupt.
