JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team managed to continue the positive trend in the group phase of the 2022 AFF Cup. Facing Brunei Darussalam at the KLFA Stadium, Malaysia, the Garuda Squad made the opponent's goal as a goal barn.

In the match which took place Monday, December 26 at 17.00 WIB, the Indonesian national team won three points after posting a final score of 7-0 which makes it now sitting at the top of Group A with 6 points.

The Indonesian national team could open the scoring first in the 19th minute. Taking advantage of Spaso's assists, Abhimanyu's movement in front of goal failed to be dammed and made the score change to lead to 1-0.

A few minutes later, the first chance came for Brunei Drussalam to equalize. Saddil Ramdani's hard pull on their players resulted in a free kick.

Appointed to be the executor, Martin Hadddy Khalliden could actually change the fate of the team in the 22nd minute. But his blocked shot failed to break the deadlock in Brunei.

Towards the end of the second half, the golden opportunity was again open to the Garuda Squad. The violation by Hanif Aiman Adanan on Egy Maulana Vikri made the referee award a free kick to the national team, unfortunately Saddil's strong kick failed to double the score for hitting the left crossbar of Brunei's goal.

The second yellow card for Alinur Rashidy in the 38th minute made Brunei continue the match with 10 players. Two minutes later, Brunei's goal was torn apart by the Indonesian national team and made the position change 2-0.

The second goal was created through Dendy Sulistyawan who casually scored the ball when he fell on the side of the goal, the goal was a pass from Saddil Ramdani. The superior score remains owned by Indonesia until the halftime whistle sounds to the referee.

In the second half, Brunei Darssalam tried to refresh the squad by replacing two of its players at once. This effort brought a slight change with the pattern of their game which was increasingly pressing towards Indonesia's defense.

An opportunity was created in the first five minutes of the second half, but the poor possession of the ball still has not made Brunei able to break the deadlock. Instead of changing points, Brunei's goal to become a goal barn for the Indonesian national team.

Two quick goals were scored by the national team players, in the 58th minute Egy Maulana Vikri recorded his second goal in the AFF Cup, while two minutes later it was Spasso's turn to increase Indonesia's score to 4-0.

The score changed again for the Indonesian national team in the 68th minute through the execution of Ramadan Sananta which used the bait of his teammate at PSM Makasar, Yakob Sayuri.

The efforts of Brunei players to stop the movement of the Garuda Squad have not been maximized. Shin Tae-yong's team actually recorded numbers again. Half a dozen goals now belong to Indonesia after the 85th minute through Marc Klok's kick.

Not enough with half a dozen goals, Yakob Sayuri added Indonesia's victory to 7-0. His first goal in the 2022 AFF Cup was created in two minutes of additional time given by the referee.
