JAKARTA Indonesia badminton parent PBSI opened its voice after mixed doubles coach Nova Widianto officially trained the mixed doubles sector at the Malaysian Badminton Association (BAM).

Head of the Development and Achievement Division, Rionny Mainaky, emphasized that Nova accepted Malaysia's offer after he decided to resign from his position as PBSI.

"The decision of Nova [Widianto] to resign from the PBSI National Training Center is the right of a coach. PBSI certainly cannot refuse," said Rionny in a statement received.

Nova decided to withdraw from the mixed PBSI doubles coach through a letter he signed on December 1, 2022.

The letter was submitted to the PBSI terrace management on December 15, 2022 and forwarded to the General Chairperson of PP PBSI Agung Firman Sampurna.

Rionny explained that PBSI as an organization does not have the power to detain or reject a decision that has been taken by a coach who chooses not to continue his work ties at the PBSI National Training Center.

"We have no power to prevent coaches from looking for challenges anywhere, including abroad," said Rionny.

Nova is tied up with a contract duration of two years at BAM. That means he has the task of preparing Malaysian mixed doubles to participate in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
