Including Luis Enrique, These Coaches Are Messier After The 2022 World Cup

JAKARTA - Luis Enrique no longer holds the status of coach of the Spanish national team in line with the end of the 2022 World Cup. His collaboration with La Furia Roja was completed following an unsatisfactory achievement.

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and Enrique agreed to end their cooperation. The decision was taken after Spain only arrived in the round of 16.

Spain failed to advance to the quarter-finals after becoming a victim of Morocco in a penalty shootout drama. The team's failure resulted in Enrique's career continued from 2019 but ended at the end of 2022.

It's not just Enrique who lost his status as a coach, throughout the World Cup in Qatar, many stories were created after the team competed in the championship.

A number of coaches were fired and others decided to resign, although some were still maintained. Here are the coaches who separated from the team during the 2022 World Cup.

Tite or Adenor Leonardo Bacchi (Brazil)

Tite resigned after Selecao ran aground in the quarter-finals. Neymar and his friends lost through a penalty shootout from Kroasi following a 120-minute 1-1 draw.

The decision to resign ended the togetherness of Tite and the Brazilian national team which had been established since 2016. During his leadership, Tite succeeded in bringing Brazil to become the 2019 Copa America champion.

Fernando Santos (Portugal)

Fernando Santos coached the Portugal national team since 2014 and presented the European Cup in 2016. However, Santos was fired from his position as head coach of the national team because Portugal's steps were stopped in the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals.

Portugal lost 0-1 to Morocco who played solidly. The Qatar World Cup last 8 match was his last game, where there was controversy as their team captain Cristiano Ronaldo was not played starter but only came down after the turn of the game.

Louis Van Gaal (Netherlands)

Louis Van Gaal resigned from his position as coach of the Dutch national team after his failure to bring the Orange Team to the title and only make it to the quarter-finals.

The Netherlands, who played hard, managed to equalize after falling behind two goals from Argentina, but they lost on penalties.

Roberto Martinez (Belgium)

The Belgian football federation and Roberto Martinez agreed not to continue their cooperation after their team failed to qualify from the group stage.

Martinez has served as a Belgian coach since 2016. During his tenure, Martinez's best achievement was to bring the country to finish third in the Russian World Cup four years ago.

Gerardo Martino (Mexico)

Gerardo Martino has cut off his collaboration with the Mexican national team as a form of responsibility for failing to get El Tri out of the group stage at the 2022 World Cup. He has been placing his post after handling the national team since 2019.
