The Coordination Meeting On The Sustainability Of Liga 1 Was Held Friday At The Ministry Of Youth And Sports

PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan said the coordination meeting (rakor) regarding the continuation of the 2022-2023 Indonesian League 1 will be held tomorrow at the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) Building, Jakarta.

"The meeting will be chaired by Menpora (Zainudin Amali-ed). Starting at around 10:00 WIB," said Iriawan in Jakarta, Thursday, quoted by Antara.

The man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule did not specify what would be discussed at the coordination meeting, including who would attend.

However, based on previous experience, the coordination meeting related to Liga 1 was also attended by PT Liga Indonesia Baru, representatives of the National Police and the Ministry of Health.

According to Iriawan, the meeting was held after the Indonesian Football Transformation Task Force (Satgas) formulated an initial report regarding the finalization of the Standard Operations Regulation and Procedures (SOP) for soccer matches in Indonesia after the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang.

The initial report was prepared based on the results of the action plan carried out by each Ministry/Institution such as from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (KemenPUPR), Polri, Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), PSSI and PT LIB.

"We'll see tomorrow how it develops," said Iriawan.

Previously, Menpora Zainudin Amali had said that a new coordination meeting was held when there was already a bright spot from the government regarding the continuation of the 2022-2023 Indonesian League 1.

The league has been suspended since October 2, 2022 after the bloody events at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, which killed 135 people and injured hundreds more.

The Independent Fact Finding Joint Team (TGIPF), which was formed by the Government of Indonesia to follow up on the tragedy of the Kanjuruhan Stadium, had recommended to the Government of Indonesia not to allow the implementation of League 1, 2 and 3 before PSSI held an extraordinary congress (KLB) to replace the general chairman, deputy chairman and members of the Executive Committee (Exco).

Related to that, PSSI complied with TGIPF by holding a KLB on February 16, 2023. Prior to that, an ordinary congress was held to determine the Electoral Committee (KP) and the Electoral Appeal Committee (KBP) on January 14, 2023.
