JAKARTA Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag appreciated his team's comeback against Aston Villa for a ticket to the last 16 of the 2022/2023 Premier League Cup.

The Red Devils came from behind twice when they hosted Villa in the third round of the tournament to win 4-2 at Old Trafford Stadium on Friday, November 11 in the morning WIB.

"That's what we need and we have to show in every game. I was very disappointed and angry on Sunday [when we lost to Villa, ed.] because we didn't put up a fight," Ten Hag said, quoted by French 24, Friday, November 11.

Dalam pertandingan ini Villa memimpin melalui gol yang dijaring oleh targetmen Watkins di menit ke-48. Anthony Martial lalu menyamakan pertamaan hanya menit setelah itu.

However, Diogo Dalot's own goal in the 61st minute brought The Villans over the wind. United then confirmed victory through three goals from Marcus Rashford (67'), Bruno Fernandes (78'), and Scott McTominay (90+1').

This victory also made the Red Devils take revenge after on Sunday, November 6 yesterday, they lost 1-3 to Villa while visiting Villa Park in the 15th week of the English Premier League.

"Tonight we controlled the game in the first half and pressed them well, but then did the wrong thing, so we missed a lot of chances," said ten Hag.

"I'm proud of our team being able to do that [return]. We are in the right direction, but the road is still long," he added.

MU is one of 16 teams that qualified for the round of 16. Next, MU will face Burnley who gets a ticket after getting rid ofrayey Town.

In this round the big match will also bring together Manchester City and Liverpool. City qualified after donating Chelsea, while Liverpool went further after repatriating Derby County.
