TGIPF PSSI Recommendation Holds KLB, Exco Member: The Government Can't Mix It

JAKARTA - PSSI does not seem to be implementing some recommendations from the Independent Fact Finding Joint Team (TGIPF) of the Flood Tragedy. One of them is related to the appeal to hold an Extraordinary Congress (KLB).

PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) member Ahmad Riyadh emphasized that the KLB request could only come from members of voters or voters. The government and TGIPF said they could not do that.

"Those who have the right to ask the KLB are PSSI members, 'voters'. The government cannot interfere in this," said Ahmad Riyadh, as reported by Antara.

Riyadh said the TGIPF recommendation was only limited to recommendations reported to President Joko Widodo. The man who is also the chairman of the East Java PSSI Asprov also feels confident that the Indonesian Government and TGIPF already know the limits to be able to intervene internally with PSSI.

"The Minister of Youth and Sports had conveyed something about it. The President was also clear. The PSSI affairs were left to the PSSI mechanism," said Ahmad Riyadh.

In the PSSI Statute, only two parties can request the holding of the KLB, namely the Executive Committee (Exco) and PSSI members.

Especially for members, KLB will be implemented if 50 percent or 2/3 of the total number of PSSI members submit the application. If it meets the requirements and the KLB has not yet taken place, PSSI members can request assistance from FIFA.

The KLB agenda, along with the place and date, will be notified 30 days before the KLB is held.

PSSI will actually hold a KLB in 2023 to choose a new management because the working period of the 2019-2023 management has ended. However, before that, an Ordinary Congress will be held in early 2023.

"The KLB will indeed run next year and we hope everything is on schedule," said Ahmad Riyadh.
