JAKARTA - Liverpool's Mohamed Salah set a fantastic record in the European Champions League. He set the fastest hat trick record in the top caste competition between European clubs.

The Egyptian international scored three goals in a duration of six minutes 12 seconds when his team Liverpool's 7-1 goal against Rangers in their fourth Group A match at the Ibrox Stadium on Thursday, October 13 in the morning WIB.

Liverpool fell behind the hosts in the 17th minute after Scott Arfield had his name on the scoreboard. The Reds then equalized thanks to Roberto Firmino's reply five minutes later.

The Brazilian then scored his second goal ten minutes after halftime to put the visitors ahead 2-1. Darwin Nunez then scored in the 66th minute before being replaced by Salah.

Salah only needed nine minutes to be on the ground to double the score for Liverpool to 4-1. He then added his respective goals in the 80th minute and 81st minute before Harvey Elliott completed the goal party in the 87th minute.

Salah's three goals are the fastest hat trick in the history of competition. The record beat the record of Bafetimbi Gomis who made a hat trick in eight minutes when Lyon met Dinamo Zagreb in 2011.

Apart from making a hat trick, Salah also made a record of scoring 38 goals while defending Liverpool in the European Champions League. This is the record for the most goals scored by players at the English club, beating Didier Drogba and Sergio Aguero (36 goals).

Victory over Rangers saw Liverpool occupy second place with a collection of nine points. Salah and his friends will next face Ajax in the group's fifth match on 27 October.
