JAKARTA - Everton player Anthony Gordon almost joined Chelsea ahead of last summer's transfer market ending. However, the transfer process was never completed.

The reason is the player's selling price which is considered too high. Reportedly, Gordon is priced at 60 million pounds or equivalent to Rp9.8 trillion.

Gordon himself considers his transfer price label "absolutely crazy". He can only stay low with the appreciation.

"You have to stay humble. You need to focus on today and tomorrow and don't look too far into the future," he said, as quoted by The Sun.

"That's how much money in football is right now, it's really crazy. I don't think there are players who are worth that much money, but I wouldn't be demeaning either."

"I'm not too focused on that because I can only control what I can control."

Apart from Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham also showed interest in Gordon this summer. However, the winger was pleased to stay at his boyhood club.

He dismissed the desire to move from Everton. According to him, it was just a rumor.

"When you do it well, there will always be speculation. It's a great place and not a place where I would be devastated if I remained," said the 21-year-old.

Instead, Gordon seems to love life at Goodison Park this season. He praised manager Frank Lampard for being judged to have acted "extraordinary".

He also praised Conor Coady and James Tarkowski for so quickly adapting to the team. The two players have made an important contribution to the Merseyside-based club.
