JAKARTA - The Norwegian national team coach, Stale Solbakken insisted on bringing Martin Odegaard into his team for the UEFA Nations League. Even though the Arsenal player is still struggling with the injuries he has suffered.

Odegaard was not in the squad when the Gunners won 3-0 over Brentford last weekend. He was replaced by Fabio Vieira.

The Norwegian national team player suffered a calf injury while undergoing a team training session. His condition is currently being monitored by the Arsenal medical team along with defender Takehiro Tomiyasu who suffered the same problem.

Although it is known that he is injured, Stale Solbakken as the coach of the Norwegian national team actually insisted on playing him in the national team. He claims to have communicated with Arsenal.

"We're in regular dialogue with Odegaard, Mikel Arteta and Arsenal's health team. He's not in good shape right now," Solbakken said as reported by Football London.

Arsenal are reported to have warned Solbakken. They do not want to see Martin Odegaard involved in a duel between Norway and Slovenia and Serbia in the UEFA Nations League continued at the end of September.

However, the coach is still looking for an opportunity to field the player.

"Right now the problem is getting a final decision whether he can be both or a game. We will definitely see him in Norway, either as a player or a substitute. It means having him," Solbakken continued.
