Not Sure Can Be Top La Liga, Rodrygo: Still A Benzema

JAKARTA Real Madrid forward Rodrygo believes he should beat Karim Benzema if he wants to be the top scorer in the Spanish League La.

The 21-year-old has now scored three goals and provided two assists in four appearances in La Liga. Benzema collected the same number of goals that were not fit.

Thus, Rodrygo's opportunity to overtake his seniors is now open. However, the Brazilian still believes Benzema will continue to outperform him.

"Can I be the La Liga's top scorer? That depends because there's still Benzema. But, of course, I'll try to score more goals," Rodrygo said.

Rodrygo just added to his La Liga tally when Los Blancos beat their city rival Atletico Madrid 2-1 in the sixth week on Monday morning yesterday.

In that match he played as a striker replacing Benzema. He also managed to play his new role well so that it makes sense that in the future he will be trusted again.

Currently Rodrygo and Benzema are still five goals adrift of Robert Lewandowski who tops the top score list. The Polish striker sits at the top with a collection of eight goals.

Benzema is a strong favorite to win this year's Ballon d'Or after scoring 27 goals in the laly season league. The 34-year-old played a big role in the Champions League title and La Liga.
