Performance Is Getting Better After The Thomas Cup, Anthony Ginting Is Getting More Confident To Face The 2022 Badminton World Championship

JAKARTA - Anthony Sinisuka Ginting is Indonesia's representative for the 2022 Badminton World Championships in Japan. Ginting admitted that he was more confident this time.

The results in the Thomas Cup last May made the mentality of the PBSI men's singles begin to improve. Since the tournament Ginting feels his performance has continued to improve.

"Grateful for the opportunity that has been given by the coach and PBSI. From the Thomas Cup the more I come here (I) the better, so automatically the confidence is there. Just keep the momentum and support it physically and technically," said Ginting during an online press conference on Thursday, 11. August.

The 2022 Badminton World Championships will take place from 22-28 August. Besides Anthony Ginting, Indonesia was also represented by Jonatan Christie, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, and Tommy Sugiarto in the men's singles sector.

The player who takes shelter at the SGS Bandung club continues to make careful preparations. He claimed to have evaluated all aspects of his previous appearance.

"For the special preparation for later, almost all aspects are due to learning and watching from the previous match. Everyone has their own components and becomes a strength," said Ginting.

However, there are factors that are a serious concern for Ginting to aim for the championship title. The 25-year-old badminton player said focus was the key.

"So basically it's focus, if the game affects the physical. If for example the game strategy is not right, on the field also feel tired," he said.

"Indeed, all have their own components but are related. Almost all aspects are important, especially focus. Others are more physical, the rest is just mindful," he concluded.
