After The 2022 ASEAN Para Games, Jokowi Presents A Joint Team To Strictly Maintain The Closing Process

JAKARTA - A joint team of security forces from the TNI, Polri and the collaboration of the Surakarta City Government strengthened security at the closing ceremony of the ASEAN Para Games (APG) XI 2022 which was held at the Manahan Stadium, Solo, Saturday, August 6.

Thousands of joint security forces guarded both the entrance to the Manahan Stadium area to the main entrance to the stadium for the closing ceremony of the 2022 APG which was scheduled to be attended by President Jokowi, at around 19.00 WIB.

According to the Head of the Surakarta City Police, Kombes Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak, the security for the closing of the APG at the Manahan Stadium in Solo was almost the same as the opening ceremony. However, the combined personnel of the TNI, Polri and Surakarta City Government for the closing ceremony were doubled.

"A total of 2,371 joint personnel were deployed to secure the APG closing ceremony or it was thickened compared to the opening ceremony of around 1,375 personnel," said the Police Chief.

The Chief of Police explained that the security forces with strategies and ways to act to secure the opening ceremony were the same as the opening ceremony at that time by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.

"For the closing ceremony, we have strengthened our security personnel with the consideration that the number of spectators who will attend is expected to increase compared to the opening event," said the Police Chief.

Security in the Manahan Stadium area, said the Police Chief, is divided into three security rings. Ring one is inside the stadium, ring two is in the stadium parking area, and ring three is outside the Manahan area.

In addition, the security forces also operate five joint teams to monitor the situation of Kamtibmas and Kamseltibcar immediately during activities.

According to the Police Chief, security is carried out both open and closed and escorts continue to be carried out until the return of the athletes, officials, referees and organizers to Adi Soemarmo Boyolali Airport.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of INASPOC Rima Ferdianto said the series of closing events for APG 2022 at the Manahan Stadium, Solo, Saturday, opened at 15.00 WIB and the closing ceremony starting at 19.00 WIB was almost the same as the opening event.

"The core of the APG closing ceremony was the giving of the APSF flag as the current host of Indonesia to the potential host of Cambodia 2023. Another differentiator, when the opening ceremony was by Mr. Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and the closing ceremony was scheduled by Mr. President Joko Widodo," said Rima as quoted from Between.

According to Rima, another differentiator for the Cambodian closing ceremony was to send more than 50 performers who would collaborate with local performers and there was a dance performance which would later become the background when the flag handover ceremony was held.
