The First Day Of Indonesia Open 2022 Colored By Brilliant Performances By Amateur Golfers

JAKARTA - The first day of the Indonesia Open 2022 was filled with surprises. Amateur golfer from Hong Kong, Taichi Kho, is at the top of the standings.

Kho competes with professional golfers from Thailand. Both scored fantastic results of 64 strokes or 8 under par at Pondok Indah Golf Course, Jakarta, Thursday, August 4.

For Kho who currently occupies 100th place in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, this is the first time he has led in a professional tournament.

Kho, who is currently strengthening the University of Notre Dame golf squad, was also in the limelight last year. At that time, he was the runner up of the Asian Amateur Championship

"It's amazing. I'm very happy with the way I played. I stuck to my game plan. I managed to make good shots on the back nine," said Kho, as reported by Antara.

Meanwhile, Itthipat was no less satisfied. A record eight birdies, and no bogeys proved himself to be able to read the green very well.

"I've played well here before," he said.

An impressive achievement was also achieved by Indonesian amateur golfer, Almay Rayhan Yagutah. He scored 67 strokes or 5 under par and is now in sixth place along with Chang Wei-lun (Taiwan) and Minkyu Kim (South Korea).

Apart from Almay, the red and white amateur golfer who played well was Randy Abernata M. Bintang. He occupies the ties 20 position with a total of 3 under par along with 15 other players.
