Nate Diaz Desperate Because Of The UFC Contract

JAKARTA - Nate Diaz has just one more fight in his UFC contract to be free to do whatever he wants.

Over the years, the youngest of the Diaz brothers was forced to refuse various types of duels because of this contract. Because basically, Dana White doesn't like anyone who's under contract, dueling outside the UFC.

Because of this, Diaz has turned down a very lucrative celebrity boxing offer. He wanted to leave the UFC and Dana White wouldn't let him.

Not so long ago, there were rumors about a possible final fight of Diaz against Khamzat Chimaev, but they failed. To Diaz, losing this last fight didn't even matter. Getting out of the contract is all that matters to him.

"They didn't offer me anyone. I've been asking for a fight for a long time, I asked for a lot of fights," in an interview with MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, Diaz made a plea.

"I asked (Vicente) Luque, I asked Tony Ferguson, I asked like four or five people. It was never good on their part. They finally offered me Khamzat (Chimaev), I was confused. But then I thought why not?

"Let's get this over with. I asked for a fight against Khamzat. Then, all sorts of excuses started happening. I wanted January, I wanted March, I wanted all these things... I tried to make this show happen, but they kept me in my contract. and they held me hostage. I wanted to get out, that's my main goal."

Why had Dana White shackled Nate Diaz for so long?

Let's be clear here. Nate Diaz is one of the biggest legends of the UFC. His fight against Conor McGregor is legendary, but he's no longer a great PPV (pay-per-view) draw.

The last interesting thing he did was a clip technique on Leon Edwards that made his opponent falter. However, he still lost the fight. Diaz is no longer interesting to watch, he is often injured and takes a long time to heal.

However, White knows how important he is to the UFC and he is looking for the ideal opponent to end his career on a high.

It's not that White doesn't want to let Diaz out of his contract, he just wants to find the ideal opponent for him to retire to. Just that.
