Liga 1 Indonesia 2022/2023 Probably Will Be Held July 23, PT LIB: Death Of 2 Persib Fans Could Be A Lesson

JAKARTA - The Indonesian League 1 competition for the 2022/2023 season is likely to start on July 23. However, there is still a chance that the Liga 1 kick-off will be delayed from the set schedule.

This was conveyed by the President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Akhmad Hadian Lukita.

"It is most likely that Liga 1 2022/2023 will start on July 23. It may indeed shift between July 23 and July 27, but our hope is that it kicks off on July 23," said Akhmad Hadian, as reported by Antara.

He continued, that Liga 1 Indonesia is scheduled to finish in April 2023. This means that the competition will take place during the fasting month of that year.

"That's because we have to adapt to the activities of the national team and international tournaments such as the World Cup. There are many activities that should not be hit," said Akhmad Hadian.

Akhmad Hadian said that currently, his party is continuing to make preparations to get a crowd permit from the Police.

"We will take care of everything at the National Police Headquarters, maybe this week or next week. At the very least, we want the schedule to be in place," said Akhmad Hadian.

The man from Bandung later said that the case of the death of a fan in Bandung during the 2022 President's Cup match, which was allegedly due to a large number of spectators in the stadium, became an important lesson for the Indonesian Liga 1 next season.

"We really have to fully evaluate, especially regarding security," he said.

Later each club must implement layered security in every match. In addition, LIB also hopes that all participating clubs will have the same technicalities regarding ticket sales, which are only available in digital form, to the public.

The LIB itself has an application or software for booking Liga 1 2022/2023 tickets, but in practice, the club's organizing committee can work with other vendors.

"Later on, the club can 'join' with the vendor. As for the audience requirements, at least they have received two vaccine doses, preferably three (reinforcers)," said Akhmad Hadian.
