JAKARTA - The prestigious badminton tournament, Indonesia Open 2022, begins at Istora Senayan, Jakarta on Tuesday, June 14. On the first day of the Super 1000 tournament, the audience still seemed empty.

Based on VOI's observations in the field, before noon a number of spectators began to arrive. But the presence of badminton lovers is still not too crowded.

The silence of the crowd before noon seems to be related to today's match schedule. Based on data released on the official website of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), the match actually started at 09.00 WIB.

However, in the initial schedule, the badminton players who performed were dominated by foreign representatives. While the hosts' representatives are scheduled to appear more in the afternoon, even a number of top names such as Jonatan Christie actually appear in the evening.

Although the majority of Indonesian representatives appeared in the afternoon, visitors were still enthusiastic to watch this most prestigious badminton tournament. As stated by one of the visitors who still choose to come first to enjoy the atmosphere of Istora Senayan.

"Look at the schedule for our representatives (Indonesia) who usually play in the afternoon. But deliberately still came first, deliberately wanted to see the atmosphere of Istora. Besides, if you come early, you can also watch other (badminton)", said Dimas Surya, one of the spectators who chose to come earlier.

For representatives of Indonesia in the qualifying round on Tuesday, June 14, it was opened with the appearance of the mixed doubles number. Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati made their first appearance representing Indonesia against the German representative, Mark Lamsfuss/Isabel Lohau.

However, Rehan/Lisa failed to take advantage of the opportunity to appear as an opener to present victory. Because, after being forced to play three games, the Indonesian mixed doubles stopped in the qualifying round after their opponents closed the match with a score of 21-13,16-21 and 21-17.
