JAKARTA - Liverpool on Wednesday rejected Bayern Munich's second offer for striker Sadio Mane.

European media outlets such as The Times and The Athletics on Wednesday reported that a second bid had increased from £25 million to £30 million.

Liverpool sporting director Julian Ward has insisted on a £42.5m price tag for Mane and said he would only accept face-to-face negotiations if that figure was reached.

In detail, Bayern's second offer for the transfer of Mane is £23.5 million, the base price, up 2.5 million pounds from the previous value and an additional clause of £6.5 million.

However, this additional clause will only be received by Liverpool if Bayern win the Champions League or Mane wins the Ballon d'Or trophy in the next three years.

Sources from The Times and The Athletics stated, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, that Liverpool immediately rejected the second offer, especially the additional clause which the English League Cup and FA Cup winners deemed ridiculous.

Mane is believed to be Bayern's target to replace Robert Lewandowski, who has repeatedly stated he wants to leave the German League club.
