2 MU Talent Scout Staff Resign After Ralf Rangnick Calls 'incompetent'

JAKARTA - Manchester United (MU) has confirmed that two of their talent scout staff, Marcel Bout and Jim Lawlor, have officially resigned from the team. The departure of two important parts in the recruitment of MU players was linked to their coach, Ralf Rangnick.

Reporting from Dailymail, Thursday, Bout and Lawlor left a day after Rangnick criticized United's signing of players. The coach said that MU talent scouts were incompetent in their work, so they often misdirected their target in bringing in players.

“Marcel Bout has left his role as head of global scouting after eight years with the club. A respected figure both inside and outside Manchester United," said a club spokesman.

Bout joined Louis van Gaal's staff in 2014. He was then appointed head of global talent scouts in 2016. While Lawlor has worked as a Manchester United scout for 16 years.

The spokesman also said, Bout played an important role as an assistant coach, especially in terms of his ability to find talented players.

Meanwhile, Lawlor decided to step down from his position as chief talent scout next summer.

Lawlor is said to have played an important role in the development of the team, which has won a number of trophies, particularly during his time with Sir Alex Ferguson and the coaches after him. Lawlor's most striking role was when he helped Van Gaal sign 13 players in two years.

After criticizing the performance of the scout team, recently Rangnick asked United to make a total change in the squad. He even said that the Red Devils needed at least 10 new players for next season.
