JAKARTA - In an interview with TMZ Sports on Sunday, UFC President Dana White said he hopes Jon "Bones" Jones returns to the octagon this summer at International Fight Week.

Jones has not fought since he defeated Dominck Reyes by unanimous decision at UFC 247 in February 2020. Now, White says that Jones' return to the octagon in a fight against former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is 'reasonable'.

"Look, people have been talking about how great this duel was, and I just told someone a few days ago our line-up for this summer has been amazing," White said as quoted by Marca, Monday, April 18. Jones will be part of that lineup this summer."

When asked if Jones would fight Francis Ngannou or Stipe Miocic, White replied, "Yes, Stipe makes sense."

Jones (20-1) vacated his UFC light heavyweight champion in August 2020 after clashing with White over the salaries of fighters.

The heavyweight has been planning to move to the division since his last fight. But contract disputes and legal issues have prevented him from returning.

With White saying Miocic (14-4) is the ideal opponent for Jones, it seems all issues between the two have been resolved.

The UFC reportedly intends to apply a provisional belt to the division as reigning heavyweight champion Ngannou underwent knee surgery and is expected to be out for the rest of 2022.
