First Day Of Training Camp, U-19 National Team Minus 5 Players And One Canceled Join

JAKARTA - The U-19 Indonesian National Team has started a training camp at the Madya Stadium, Senayan on Tuesday, March 2 afternoon. The agenda was held as preparation for Garuda Muda ahead of appearing in the 2023 U-20 World Cup.

Even though it has entered the first day of training camp, the Indonesian U-19 national team squad is not yet complete. Of the 40 names on the list of coach Shin Tae-yong, today's practice was only attended by 32 players.

Of all the players who have not attended, five of them are still in Europe. Meanwhile, one player from Persib Bandung, Robi Darwis, has certainly not joined.

PSSI General Chair (Ketum) Mochamad Iriawan who was also present at the location later explained that there were indeed several names who had not joined.

"Today, there are 32 players who are preparing for the U-20 World Cup. Four are at Garuda Select, two more have not arrived and one is in Greece. So there are 39 players," he said on the sidelines of practice.

Even though he has given an explanation, Iriawan emphasized that the final decision regarding the players who will enter the team will return to Shin Tae-yong always the head coach.

"It's up to Shin Tae-yong to send how many (players) there (South Korea) later the coach will decide," continued the PSSI chairman.

Regarding the five players who are still in Europe, it is known that four of them are still joining Garuda Select in England, they are Resa Aditya Nugraha, Hokky Caraka Bintang, Ibnul Mubarak and Muhammad Faiz Maulana.

Meanwhile, another player in Greece is Muhammad Rafli Asrul. He was forced to be absent because he was following a trial with Atromitos. And for the two names that have not yet arrived, it's because they are still defending the club in the competition zone.

Meanwhile, for the name Robi Darwis, previously released by PSSI, the player is reportedly canceled from joining. Because, Persib announced that only three players will participate in training with the Indonesian U-19 national team.

Garuda Muda itself will train in Jakarta until March 6. After that, they are scheduled to fly to South Korea to undergo a training camp in two sessions.

The first session will take place in Gyeongsangbuk-do on March 13-24 2022, then continue in Daegu on March 24-10 April 2022.
