4-0 Win Over Sampdoria, Atalanta Director Says La Dea Is On The Right Track

JAKARTA - Atalanta secured three points after a 4-0 win over Sampdoria in the 27th week of the 2021/2022 Italian League. The victory that was won at Gewiss Stadium on Tuesday, March 1 in the early hours of West Indonesia Time made the competition for the top four even tighter.

Commenting on the perfect results achieved by his team after playing at home, Atalanta Director Umberto Marino said he was satisfied and proud. Moreover, according to him, this result keeps the team on the right track for competition towards the Champions League.

“The whole team played well, showed great character, great will. This is a great effort by the team, they are united to achieve their goals and are on the path to Europe (Champions League)", Marino said as quoted by Tuttomercato.

From Atalanta's victory over Sampdoria, La Dea is now in 5th place in the standings with 47 points. Where that number is only three points from Juventus who sits in 4th position.

If La Dea can continue to get perfect results, it is not impossible at the end of the tournament they can shift Juventus' position to fourth place. If that position is secured by Atalanta, they will automatically have a ticket to the Champions League next season.

Atalanta's victory over Sampdoria this time could not be separated from the host's dominance from the start of the match. It was proven by a quick goal which was opened by Mario Articleic when the game had only been running for six minutes. The goal was then doubled by a Teun Koopmeiners brace and Aleksei Miranchuk's execution was closed.

But then Marino also emphasized that he was reluctant to comment and linked the Russian striker to the hot situation that occurred with Ukraine.

“Miranchuk's goal was important for the team in this match, but there is no point in commenting on it (about his country's heated situation with Ukraine). He is very sensitive, shy, and most importantly he lived this moment with an extraordinary appearance“, concluded the Director.
