JAKARTA – The Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) continues to be disrupted by COVID-19. Recently, RANS PIK Basketball team manager Alvin Indra and assistant coach Abrizalt Hasiholan were confirmed positive.

The positive result made Alvin and Abrizalt unable to attend the match against the DNA of Bima Perkasa Jogja. The match is scheduled to take place today at C-Tra Arena, Bandung, West Java.

"Several RANS officials also had to undergo temporary quarantine or under special supervision because they had close contact with Alvin. Currently, it is still under monitoring and has been separated from other personnel who are in good health," wrote IBL on its official website.

Meanwhile, other assistant coaches Bambang Asdianto Pribadi, physical trainer Derry Drew, and other officials Fadly Sonjaya, Muslihudin, and Panggih, actually got a negative PCR test result.

However, they have not been allowed to go to the match venue because they have close contact with Alvin and Abrizalt.

RANS also rested Nuke Tri Saputra and Otturay who complained of sore throat. They are expected to return to their activities in good health.

From the results of the assessment, Alvin & Abrizalt did not have close contact with the players. All RANS players are declared to be in good health and can compete after the test results come out before the match.

The IBL has so far postponed three matches because players and team personnel tested positive for COVID-19. The premiere was postponed on the first day of the second series, Saturday, January 29.

The other two matches which had to be postponed were made on the second day, Sunday, January 30. Until now IBL has not released a new schedule for the postponed matches.
