JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government invited local residents to celebrate New Year's Eve at several points in the global city on Tuesday (31/12).

Head of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) Andhika Permata said the celebration entitled 'Memarak Jakarta World' was not only designed to celebrate New Year's Eve, but also introduced Jakarta as a modern and creative global city.

"We invite all residents to attend and feel the extraordinary spirit of togetherness," Andhika said in Jakarta, Sunday as quoted by Antara.

Furthermore, Andhika said the celebration was divided into three major parts. The first event was titled 'Btang Harapan JakASA'.

In the event, residents of Jakarta are expected to participate in writing down hope in the 500-meter-long white cloth which will be distributed at City Hall and five mayor's offices, as well as the Thousand Islands Regent's office.

"This event will take place at 15.30-16.30 WIB," said Andhika.

The second event is 'Semarak Jakarta Mendunia' which will be held from 18.30-00.30 WIB in a number of locations.

"First at the HI Roundabout which contains the main stage with entertainment from a number of well-known artists, such as Yura Yunita, RAN, there are light performances, drone performances and fireworks as well," said Andhika.

Furthermore, along Jalan MH Thamrin to Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, there are 14 entertainment stage points that will be filled with entertainment from a number of top artists with dangdut, pop, rege, and rock genres.

"Then at Lapangan Banteng there is Pesona Decade, at Monas the South Side there is a Gemilang Silang Monas event, in Kota Tua there is a Jakarta Light Festival," said Andhika.

Furthermore, said Andhika, there is Jakpreneur Bazaar, namely various typical Jakarta culinary delights scattered around the entertainment stage location.

The third event is the entertainment stage in six cities/districts, namely the entertainment stage at the Central Jakarta Mayor's office, the North Jakarta Mayor's office, the West Jakarta Mayor's office, the Betawi Cultural Village in Setu Babakan, South Jakarta, and Old Shanghai in Sedayu City, East Jakarta, and Tidung Island in the Thousand Islands.

"It is hoped that all residents who attend will participate in maintaining cleanliness, security, and order during the event. Let's show that Jakarta is a modern global city that is friendly, clean, and full of togetherness," concluded Andhika.
