DENPASAR - Bali Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) managed to apprehend a foreign national (WNA) from Russia, Evgenii Karamyshev (33), for being determined to distribute seven types of drugs. The majority of customers are foreigners who live or vacation in Bali.

The suspect, who has lived in Bali for a year, was arrested by the Bali BNNP eradication team on Jalan Raya Uluwatu, Jimbaran, Badung, Bali, when he was about to distribute 223.15 grams of hashish narcotics. The drug is thought to be circulated ahead of the New Year celebrations.

This case was revealed thanks to the development of investigations and information from the public. Evgenii was arrested along with evidence, then immediately interrogated at the location of the arrest. The authorities also searched the suspect's boarding house.

During the search, officers found seven types of narcotics that were ready to be circulated. The confiscated evidence includes 24 plastic clips containing hashish (62 grams), 10 plastic clips of marijuana, five psilosibin plants, 36 plastics containing white crystals suspected of being mefentron, one clip of methamphetamine, one clip of cocaine, two MDMA clips, and three digital scales to weigh drugs.

Evgenii is known to act as a solver and drug distributor with a pasty system, namely placing goods in certain locations according to the coordinates given. In exchange, he received cash or cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.

The suspect admitted that the drugs were ordered from Thailand. He is only tasked with accepting goods, breaking them, and distributing them according to his boss's instructions through the Telegram application. Ironically, even though he has been in the drug trafficking business for a year, the Russian foreigner admits that he is not aware of the identity of his customers.

The Head of the Eradication of BNNP Bali, Kombes I Made Sinar Sumbawa, stated that his party was continuing to investigate this case to dismantle the Russia-Bali drug network.

"Currently further investigations are being carried out to dismantle a larger Russian-Bali drug network and arrest the dealer behind the drug trafficking," said Kombes Sinar Sumbawa.

As a result of his actions, Evgenii Karamyshev, a Russian foreigner who circulates methamphetamine, faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison in accordance with applicable laws in Indonesia.
