Edy Rahmayadi Sues North Sumatra Regional Head Election Results Won By Bobby Nasution

JAKARTA - The candidate pair for governor-deputy governor of North Sumatra number 2 Edy Rahmayadi-Hasan Basri Sagala sued the results of the 2024 Pilkada to the Constitutional Court (MK).

The Edy-BHasan camp asked candidate pair number 1 Bobby Nasution-Surya to be disqualified and re-voting (PSU).

"First Petitum, we honestly say please MK disqualify the pair [sequence number] 1. Second, we ask for PSU in all regencies/cities in North Sumatra," said Head of the Edy-Hasan Legal Team, Yance Aswin, when met at Building I MK, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 11, confiscated by Antara.

Yance said the Edy-Hasan Legal Team had prepared 83 pieces of evidence, including those related to the alleged involvement of the state civil apparatus (ASN) and police officers in directing voters to choose certain pairs of candidates.

In addition, the Edy-Hasan camp also questioned the list of double voters and voters' anomalies. Yance gave an example, Edy-Hasan lost in Kuala District, Langkat Regency, even though the area was claimed to be the voter base for the candidate pair.

"We have great strength, but we are at TPS zero (nihil), there are no voters. In fact, we have witnesses there. This is very strange. In fact, Mr. Edy Rahmayadi is a Langkat person. Langkat people are impossible [to lose], at least the TPS is not empty," he said.

Yance also highlighted Bobby-Surya's victory in Humbang Hasundutan Regency. According to him, Bobby-Surya never visited the area, but managed to win in a unanimous vote of 100 percent.

In addition, Edy-Hasan also questioned the implementation of voting in the midst of flood disasters that occurred in several locations in North Sumatra, such as Langkat Regency, Madya Binjai City, Madya Medan City, and Deli Serdang Regency. According to Yance, this affects the voter participation rate.

"How can voters in North Sumatra actively participate, while they must think about the safety of him and his family. The flood is not a flood of play," Yance said.

The Edy-Hasan Legal Team also asked the Constitutional Court to order PSU in all regencies/cities in North Sumatra or at least in four districts/cities affected by flooding.

"If that's the PSU, we are sure that the people of North Sumatra will definitely vote for Edy Rahmayadi and Hasan Basri Sagala, and God willing, the governors for the 2025 '30 period will Edy Rahmayadi and Hasan Basri Sagala," he said.

Edy-Hasan was recorded as registering a lawsuit for the results of the 2024 North Sumatra Pilkada to the Constitutional Court on Tuesday (10/12) night. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the legal team of the candidate pair verified the Court's Kepanteraan.

It is known that the North Sumatra Provincial KPU determined the Bobby-Surya pair to excel in the election of the governor and deputy governor of the local government by obtaining 3,645,611 votes. The Bobby-Surya pair managed to outperform the Edy-Hasan pair who only had 2,009,311 votes.
