JAKARTA - Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Agency (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin said Moscow was close to achieving the objectives of military operations in particular, while Ukrainian soldiers faced potential collapse.

"The situation at the forefront does not benefit Kyiv. We are taking the initiative in all fields and are nearing our goal, while the Ukrainian armed forces are on the verge of collapse and Zelensky's regime has lost its legitimacy, along with the ability to make an agreement," Narsyhkin explained in an interview with Razvedchik magazine. , reported TASS December 10.

Furthermore, Naryshkin explained, all efforts to create instability in Russia have failed.

"People understand we are not fighting against the Kyiv junta but against the collective West, and our freedom and sovereignty are at stake in this confrontation," explained the SVR chief.

"West's strategic goals in the Ukraine conflict are very clear, imposing a tiring war on us to divide the Russian people and create conditions for the 'color revolution'. Even so, they will fight 'until Ukraine is last', and once there are no more Ukrainians left, Baltic countries, Eastern Europe, and then, Germany will be forced to join the war against the 'terrible Russian bear'," explained Naryshkin.

"The globalist force already has the technology they need to brainwash the common people and suppress local elites," he added.

The SVR director stressed that the escalation of further tensions "will not only fail to drain Russian resources, which is the goal of Washington and London, but will also bring the West closer to its own defeat."

Separately, the Kremlin said on Tuesday, Ukraine's war would continue until President Vladimir Putin's goals were achieved through military action or negotiations.

"Special military operations will end when all the goals set by the president and commander-in-chief have been achieved," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"These goals can be achieved as a result of special military operations or the result of relevant negotiations," he continued.

It is known that President Putin has demanded that Ukraine stop its ambition to join NATO, fully withdraw from the four territory of the country Russia claims as its own. This requirement was rejected by Kyiv because it was considered tantamount to surrendering.

Peskov added that there is no talk between Moscow and Kyiv currently underway as "the Ukrainian side rejects any negotiations".
