JAKARTA - A group of gunmen kidnapped more than 50 women and children in an attack on Kakin Dawa village in Zamfara state, Nigeria.

Residents said the attackers arrived with assault rifles and went home to kidnap residents.
"Then we found out that they kidnapped more than 50 women, including married women and girls," said Hassan Ya'u, who escaped the attack but his younger sister was kidnapped.
"We ask the federal government and Zamfara states to send more troops and security personnel to fight the bandits," he said.
