JAKARTA - Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva underwent surgery in Sao Paulo to dry up bleeding in his brain because he fell at home in October.
The operation was declared successful. 79-year-old Lula is in good health and supervised in an intensive care unit, the medical records said.
Lula underwent an MRI scan on Monday night local time in Brasilia after suffering from a headache, which showed an intracrarial bleeding.
He was transferred to Sao Paulo for surgery at the Sirio Libanes hospital.
