KPK: Buying Auction Goods From The Rampasan Of Corruptors Means Helping The State

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) appreciates the people who participated in the auction of corrupt loot in commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) 2024. They are considered to help return state losses that have been converted into goods.

"Indirectly, people who buy KPK auction goods will help asset recovery, I think this is a good thing especially for those who want to help the country," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters quoted on Monday, December 9.

This condition makes the KPK hope that many people are interested in participating in the auction. Why? Because indeed this auction is if an item is purchased, the money will return to the state, not to a personal party or party whose goods are auctioned,' said Tessa.

"But it will be part of the return of state losses," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.

It was reported that the KPK held an auction of corrupt looted goods in a series of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) which was commemorated on Monday, December 9. In addition to luxury cars and motorbikes, there are also precious metals and bags with various high-end brands.

The luxury bag at the starting price of the most expensive auction is Hermes Ostrich with Birkin type. The initial price reached IDR 241,535,000 and the security deposit that the auction participants had to pay amounted to IDR 100 million.

Then there is a blue Hermes bag at an initial price of Rp. 92,610,000. And there is a pink bag branded Louis Vuitton opened at a price of Rp. 37,554,000.
