Deputy Minister Of Home Affairs Says Central Papua's 2024 Pilkada Implementation Is On Schedule

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Ribka Haluk said that the meeting with Forkopimda and election organizers to ensure the continuation of the 2024 Pilkada after the vote in Central Papua was on schedule.

"We evaluate the implementation of the regional elections, both governors and regents/mayors, which have been held on November 27, 2024," said Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ribka quoting Antara.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, said Ribka, held a Simultaneous 2024 Regional Head Election Evaluation Meeting (Pilkada) in Central Papua Province.

The meeting took place at the Secretariat of the Desk Pilkada of Central Papua Province, Nabire Regency, which was attended by the ranks of the regional leadership coordination forum (forkopimda) and the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of Central Papua Province.

This meeting, he said, was to ensure that the continuation of the 2024 Pilkada after the vote in Central Papua was on schedule.

In general, according to him, the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada in Central Papua Province is going well. However, his party encourages organizers such as the KPU and Bawaslu of Central Papua Province to pay attention to various aspects of the substance of the advanced pilkada stage, for example related to the implementation of the vote acquisition recapitulation plenary meeting.

"So, more on such a substance, each synergizes both in terms of security, then in terms of implementation and also in terms of government," he said.

The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs said that his party continues to oversee the performance of all regional election desks, including in Central Papua Province.

On that occasion, Ribka appealed to local governments (Pemda) and the community to support the duties of the local KPU and Bawaslu in completing the recapitulation of votes. Thus, all stages of the regional elections can run according to schedule.

"We will arrive at the last national tally point on December 16, 2024," he said.

According to Ribka, this is important because it involves the goals of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada, namely to harmonize the programs of the central and regional governments.

"So, we hope that on December 16, Central Papua can carry out plenary results of the recapitulation of votes at the provincial level according to the schedule," he said.
