JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has confirmed that efforts to search for victims of floods and landslides that have been lost in Sukabumi Regency, West Java will be optimized in the next seven days.

Based on data received by the BNPB Pusdalops, there are as many as seven victims of flash floods and landslides who are still missing in the search process.

The seven missing victims are residents of Tegalbuleud, Pabuaran, Gegerbitung and Simpenan sub-districts. Meanwhile, BNPB confirmed that the number of victims who died due to the disaster in Sukabumi increased to a total of five people, namely, Aden Dafa, Ade Wahyu, Elma Ayunda, Sahroni and Dadang.

According to him, the central government and local governments will prepare every need, starting from equipment and equipment to thickening the number of personnel from the joint SAR team if necessary so that missing victims can be found.

Then if the search effort is maximized and within 7x24 hours there are still victims who have not been found, the joint SAR team will negotiate with the heirs, relatives or closest relatives of the victim to determine the next steps.

"If the family has let it go because they haven't found it for seven days, then the search and rescue efforts will be stopped. But if the family is still asking to be found, the joint SAR team will look for it again until they are found," he added.
